Description

The tour to Laguna Humantay is an excursion that is quite popular in the region of Cusco, Peru. It is an impressive lagoon with turquoise waters located at 4,200 meters above sea level in the vicinity of the Vilcabamba Mountain Range, near the famous Salkantay hike to Machu Picchu. The tour begins early in the morning with pickup at your hotel in Cusco (4am aprox),from where we´ll go to the town of Mollepata in a bus trip that lasts about 3 hours, depending on traffic and weather conditions. Before starting the hike, it is common to stop in Mollepata to have a typical Peruvian breakfast and prepare for the hike. It is important to note that the altitude can affect some people, so it is advisable to acclimatize in Cusco before taking this excursion and consult a doctor if you have any medical concerns. Also, be sure to bring enough water, sunscreen, a hat, and warm clothing, as the weather in the mountains can be unpredictable. The hiking tour to the lake takes 1h:30mins average , once in the lake the tour guide will give you a general information about the place. After enjoying and taking fotos from the lake we´ll return to Mollepata to enjoy our lunch buffet and afterwards back to Cusco by 6pm aproximately.

• The hiking tour goes from 3900masl to 4200masl so a previus aclimatation process to altitude is needed, the weather conditions is determined acording to the season of visit to Cusco.
