Description

Begin your adventure with pick-up from your hotel at 3:00 AM arriving in the picturesque village of Cabanaconde at approximately 12:00 AM for lunch. Descend into the terraced landscapes of one of the world’s deepest canyons on a four hour trek that will end at the remote village of Llahuar. Enjoy the grandeur of the landscape, a dip in a natural hot spring or fish for wild trout. As evening falls, a well-earned dinner will be served. You may be able to taste a freshly caught trout supper before retiring to your rustic bungalow. Day 1: You will hike on a descent path from 3200 meters to 1200 meters in 4 hours approximately. After breakfast start towards Sangalle. Reach a point that allows a pristine panoramic view of last night’s rest point, Llahuar, and your destination, Sangalle. Notice Apachetas, age old towers of stones constructed by Andean wanderers, as a way of marking their trail. Lunch will be taken at Sangalle, where you'll be free to spend time lounging around the tropical oasis pool or exploring the banks of Colca River. Finally ascend to Cabanaconde, where you will overnight at the fantastic Kuntur Wassi Hotel.   Day 2: You will walk on a straight path for 3 hours and then go up from 1200 meters to 3200 in 3 hours. This day will be walked approximately 6 hours. Breakfast at the hotel before private transportation to Condor Cross. Arrive at one of the only vantage points in South America where you can see the magnificent flying Condor in its natural habitat. Perhaps you'll be able to feel the wingbeat of the condor rippling the air. In Yanque, you'll stop at a local family's house to eat and enjoy some Colca hospitality. Stop off at Chivay, if you wish, to peruse the town and again relax in some hot springs before arriving back at Arequipa at approximately 6:00 PM. Day 3: This day is a very easy day, where you will only walk 1 hour in total.
