After a brief stop in Patacocha, you will start a 20-minute walk to Millpu, where the breathtaking turquoise-colored water pools await.
These natural formations, shaped by the Millpu River in steps, display a beautiful turquoise hue (from May to August) and emerald green (from September to November). For a more panoramic view, you will ascend another 15 minutes along a zigzag path, allowing you to admire over 20 pools nestled between canyon walls – a truly mesmerizing sight straight out of fairy tales.
Next, you'll descend to the pool's edge for capturing unforgettable photos before returning to the main trail. You'll continue for another 20 minutes to reach the spring, and finally, you'll head back to Patacocha before returning to the city. The tour will conclude in Ayacucho around 8:00 PM, just a block away from the main square.
Note: Due to a municipal ordinance, entering the pools is prohibited, but we will approach the edge so you can capture stunning photographs.
