Meet our chauffeur at your Cusco Hotel for a scenic road transfer to the train station. Board the train, then sit back and relax as you enjoy the 2-hour journey across the Sacred Valley. During the trip you will admire the spectacular views over the mountain scenery and pass by some important towns such as Ollantaytambo. The views get even better if you go for the Panoramic Vistadome train, which features wider windows on the ceiling and more comfortable seats. It also includes an Andean ingredients-based snack and drink as well as souvenirs you can buy on board. Arrive in Aguas Calientes town and set off with your guide to embark on a 30 min bus ride uphill to Machu Picchu main entrance. Shortly after check in, begin your private tour and discover the Citadel’s magnificent arquitecture by visiting the most remarkable landmark attractions such as the Temple of the Sun, The Temple of the Moon. See the impressive terraced fields of the agricultural sector and take the famous picture from the observatory with the lost citadel and the Huayna Picchu Mountain behind you. After finishing the guided part, enjoy free time to explore on your own. Then take the bus back to Aguas Calientes. If time is propitious, you can explore the town and have some lunch with excellent recommendations from your guide, before heading back to the station. In the late afternoon head back to the train station for your return journey to Cusco.
