Visit the Pachacamac Site Museum, an archaeological site museum belonging to the Ministry of Culture of Peru, located in the department of Lima within the Pachacamac Archaeological Sanctuary. Explore the museum's collection of more than 6,500 registered pieces of various materials such as ceramics, wood, plant material, metal, and textile, of which there are around 290 on display. See one of the most emblematic pieces of the museum, the idol of Pachacamac, which was worshipped for hundreds of years before colonization. Visit the Great Inca Trail (El Qhapaq Ñan), one of the most impressive works of the Inca Empire, a road system that consisted of 25 thousand kilometers of roads that connect Cusco with the other extensions of the Empire. Move on to the 'Acllahuasi' or Temple of the Virgins of the Sun, the sacred temple where women selected for their manual skills, culinary skills, or physical beauty lived and worked and were in the service of the State. Learn about the Acllahuasi, how there was one in each important state of the Inca Empire, and how the Acllahuasi of Pachacamac was one of the largest and most important on the coast. Leave Pachacamac and visit the Mamacona hacienda to enjoy a buffet lunch and a show of typical dances from 3 different regions of Peru, and see a show of the Peruvian Paso horse before taking a ride around the hacienda.
