Description

The departure from Cusco is at 3:30 am. You will commute 2 hours by bus to the train station of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley where you will board the train that will take you to Aguas Calientes. During your journey, you will have the opportunity to feast your eyes on the breathtaking landscapes as you embark on a train ride that promises to be an unforgettable experience. As you follow the course of the river through the Sacred Valley, you will eventually reach Aguas Calientes, where you will embark on a guided tour of Machu Picchu that lasts approximately 2 hours. Throughout the tour, you will gain a deeper understanding of the Inca culture and have the chance to explore all the key areas of the citadel. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the site at your own pace. Later in the afternoon, you will take a bus back to Aguas Calientes and board the Expedition class train back to Ollantaytambo, a journey that lasts approximately 2 hours. From there, you will continue on to Cusco by bus, which takes another 2 hours. The train will depart at around 4:55 pm and you can expect to arrive in Cusco at approximately 9:00 pm.
