Paracas: Kitesurfing Lessons

Nature & Adventure Water Sports Outdoor Sports Extreme Sports & Adrenaline Sightseeing Tours Family-friendly Theme Tours Medium-risk activities High-risk activities

Discover what kitesurfing is all about at a world class spot with great wind and flat water. Learn the sport with certified instructors at a professional school with the best beachfront facilities and equipment.

  • Learn how to fly and control a kite on land
  • Learn how to body drag thorugh the water with the power of the kite
  • Learn how to stand up on your board and get the real feeling of kitesurfing

Enjoy a kitesurfing course where the objective is for students to become independent riders in a safe and fun way. Make the most of your time in Paracas where conditions are perfect for learning with constant wind, flat water, a sandy bottom, no dangerous obstacles, and no crowds. Normally, it takes between six and nine hours to become proficient enough to surf independently. Go through three different lesson stages on the way. The first is the discovery stage during which you first encounter the sport. Learn how to set up the equipment, use the safety systems, and fly the kite on land. Your sole objective at this stage is to be able to control the kite perfectly by doing two-handed and one-handed control exercises as well as some coordination exercises like walking while controlling the kite. This course is a good option for those seeking to learn the basics of kitesurfing, but won't be enough on its own to get you on the water. To go further in learning the art of kitesurfing, do a second lesson which will take you through the body drag stage. Head into the water with the kite and learn how to body drag using the power of the kite. Leave the board out during this stage while you practice different kite control exercises in the water to get a feel for the push and pull of the wind. Keep in mind this stage takes lots of practice and that you may need several courses to get the body drag technique down. The final stage is the water start. During this stage, you will start trying to stand up on the board and ride. The most exciting and gratifying part of the course, the final stage is also the most challenging as you must be able to control both board and kite at the same time. Experience the exhilarating feeling of gliding effortlessly through the water propelled by the power of the wind. The time it takes to master this stage varies from two to six hours. With a six-hour course you will most likely be taking your first tries with the board and with a 9-hour course you should be up and riding with confidence.
