The “Rainbow Mountain” in Peru, also known as Vinicunca, is a spectacular place near the snowy Ausangate glacier which is considered a sacred mountain by local people, is one of the most important deities of ancient Cusco.
this walk you will see picturesque villages, beautiful “adobe” houses, herds of llamas and alpacas, and you will have a magnificent view of the glacier Ausangate (6,385 m / 20,945 feet).
We will walk along a path that will gradually change the landscape to mountains of intense colors and small streams of frozen water that feed and give life to this valley.
the walk to Apu Vinicunca will last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes uphill until access point to this beautiful mountain of 7 colors.
ITINERARY:
Pick up from your accommodation or meeting point in the city of Cusco.
The activity begins with the transfer from Cusco to the town of Cusipata, where meals (breakfast and lunch) will be provided during the activity.
Arrival at the town of Cusipata where breakfast will be served. Next, we go in mobility to the base camp to begin the walk towards the rainbow mountain.
You will have informative talks about the geography of the place from the local guide.
Upon arriving at the Mountain you will have free time for photographs and/or if you want to visit the Red Valley, you can do so during this time (Optional).
Return to the base camp to return to the town of Cusipata.
Lunch included at the local restaurant (Cusipata), then we return to the city of Cusco.
