Description

The adventure begins with a pick-up from the front desk of your hotel, located in the central area of Puno. We'll head to the main cruise port, where we'll board our boat to begin a journey of approximately 30 minutes on the waters of majestic Lake Titicaca. Our first stop will be at the fascinating Uros floating islands, handcrafted from totora reeds, a plant that is an essential part of the lives of their inhabitants. Here you'll have the opportunity to meet a native family, discover their way of life, and learn how they use totora to build their homes, boats, and various everyday objects. Then, the family will invite us to enjoy a 10- to 15-minute ride on a traditional boat made with totora, a perfect experience to feel part of this ancient culture. We'll arrive at a second island, where you can learn about its artisanal and commercial activity. We will then continue our journey to Amantani Island, a place full of nature, tranquility, and living traditions. Upon arrival, a local family will welcome us and accompany us to our rural accommodation, where we will also enjoy the local gastronomy. The program includes lunch, dinner, and breakfast. In the afternoon, we'll set off on a hike to Pachatata, one of the highest points on the island. From there, you can watch a stunning sunset over Lake Titicaca, surrounded by natural landscapes and fresh air. And when night falls, the celebration continues! We'll enjoy a dance party with music, dances, and traditional clothing, sharing a special moment with the community in an authentic, cheerful atmosphere full of tradition. On the second day, after breakfast, we'll continue our adventure to Taquile Island, famous for its traditions, weaving, and customs that are kept alive generation after generation. During our visit, we'll learn more about the local culture and discover how traditional clothing makes it possible to identify important aspects of the lives of its inhabitants, such as their marital status, role within the community, and social position. It will be an opportunity to get to know a unique culture up close and understand how each garment, color, and detail can tell a story about the person wearing it. Finally, we will head back to the city of Puno, arriving at approximately 3:30 PM. Experience Titicaca in a different way: meet its communities, share their traditions, discover their stories, and be amazed by the beauty of the highest navigable lake in the world
