Description
Start your excursion with pick-up from your hotel in the city of Cusco (3:00 to 3:30 AM). Then we'll drive south of Cusco for 5 hours until we reach the town of Phinaya, where we'll have our first stop to enjoy a delicious Andean breakfast.
We'll then continue along the road for 1 hour until we reach the imposing Quelccaya Glacier, recognized as the largest tropical glacier in the world. Upon arriving at the bus parking lot or the end of the vehicle route, we will take a roughly 20-minute hike to the Quelccaya Glacier.
Along the way, you can explore the natural beauty of the area, including crystal-clear lagoons, streams, vicuñas in the wild, and the imposing mountains of the Vilcanota Range. After a great hike, we'll return to the vehicle to head back to the small village of Phinaya, where a typical local lunch prepared with local ingredients will be waiting for us.
Then, we'll board our transportation again for the approximately 5-hour return journey to Cusco, making a special stop at the magical Sibinacocha Lagoon, one of the largest and most beautiful in the Altiplano. We will wrap up this unforgettable adventure with our arrival in the city of Cusco at around 7:00 PM.
