Description
Leave the classic one-day Seven Lakes excursion behind and enter deeper into the high Andes on a private two-day trek beneath Ausangate Mountain. Travel from Cusco through Tinki to Pacchanta, then begin a gradual high-altitude hike through the Seven Lakes circuit. Walk beside glacial water in changing shades of blue, green, and turquoise while your guide explains the landscape, the importance of Pachamama, and the meaning of the surrounding mountains in Andean culture. Continue beyond the usual day-tour route toward Pachis Pata. After a full day of hiking, enjoy dinner and spend the night in shared twin-room accommodation in the mountains. On the second morning, cross another remote section of the Ausangate region among alpaca and llama herds. Climb to the Twelve Lakes Viewpoint at approximately 4,860 meters, where the lakes, glaciers, and peaks can be observed together from above. Descend to Pacchanta for lunch. If time and local conditions allow, choose to relax in the natural hot springs before returning by private transport to your accommodation in Cusco.Includes
