Description
Visit the Colca at a leisurely pace, spend a night in Chivay or another town near, breathe its pure air, enjoy hot spring, and visit one of the deepest canyons with the flight of the condor.
DAY 1: AREQUIPA / CHIVAY
Start your tour with a pick-up from your hotel in Arequipa. Travel to one of the deepest canyons in the world. Take the Yura highway, bordering the snowy Chachani towards Pampa Cañahuas (Aguada Blanca and Salinas National Reserve) habitat of the beautiful South American camelids: the vicuñas, llamas, alpacas.
In the Tocra Bofedales, see a variety of migratory birds, and if you are lucky, see the flamingos. Pass through the crater of an extinct volcano (Chucura). Stop at the viewpoint of the volcanoes, which is also the highest area of the road (4,910 masl) from where you will appreciate much of the western mountain range.
Arrive at the Colca Valley where you will settle in your hotel in Chivay or around Yanque, Coporaque enchanted little bird, and then have lunch. (The cost of the hotel is the responsibility of the passenger, and if the hotel is located outside the town of Chivay, you will have to assume extra transportation costs.)
In the afternoon, enjoy the thermal baths in Yanque (Chacapi) whose thermo medicinal waters range from 35º to 38º degrees Celsius.
Then Have dinner accompanied by a folkloric show with typical dances of the Area. (extra cost by the customer)
Afterwards, overnight stay at your hotel. We'll take a well-deserved rest and prepare to visit the same canyon very early the next day.
DAY 2: CHIVAY / CRUZ DEL CONDOR / CHIVAY / AREQUIPA
Start the day early to appreciate the flight of the condor. Breakfast will be at your hotel or hostel. Go to the viewpoint of the cross of the condor, strategic observation point of the canyon and the spectacular flight of the condor. START 6:30 am the second day, optionally according the weather we will enjoy a shoprt hike to the Cruz del Condor, main view point of the Colca Canyon. (a walk up the same hill that surrounds the canyon)
Upon return, stop at the towns of Pinchollo, Maca, and Yanque; They have beautiful colonial churches, as well as in the viewpoints of Choquetico and Antahuilque, from where you will observe the impressive terraces of the valley, the pre-Inca tombs, and models.
Return to Chivay where there are restaurants for lunch. Depart with direction come back to Arequipa direct, arriving 4:30 pm aprox.
OPTIONAL: If you decide change the end of the tour is possible take direction to Puno with a extra cost for the ticket bus, Chivay - Puno. departure: 1:00 pm. All coordination is done through our agency
