Huacachina is a natural oasis located in the Ica region of Peru, a few kilometers from the city of Ica. It is surrounded by high sand dunes and has a small lagoon in the center, surrounded by palm trees and vegetation.
It is one of the country's best-known tourist destinations for its beautiful desert landscape and the adventure activities it offers, such as buggy rides and sandboarding.
According to a Peruvian legend, the lagoon was formed by the tears of a princess, who later became a mermaid that inhabits its waters.
Huacachina is known as the 'Oasis of America' and receives thousands of visitors each year for its natural beauty and stunning sunsets.
