Centro Histórico de Lima

La historia de Lima se remonta al siglo XVI. Desde su fundación por los españoles, y durante el Virreinato del Perú, Lima, la Ciudad de los Reyes, ha sido un centro político y cultural de primer orden en el nuevo continente. La prueba está en el Centro Histórico, donde se han conservado iglesias centenarias, conventos y magníficas casas con elegantes balcones, que representan los estilos renacentista, barroco, neoclásico y otros contemporáneos.

La Catedral de Lima 

A cada paso, la ciudad revela una combinación única de lo moderno y lo histórico, destacando la preservación de sus tradiciones gastronómicas, musicales, de danza y otras artísticas.
 
En 1988, el Convento de San Francisco fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. El Centro Histórico de Lima recibió el mismo reconocimiento en 1991.
