La cordillera del Vilcanota

Ubicada entre los ríos Vilcanota, Paucartambo y Madre de Dios, la cordillera incluye montañas como el Ausangate (6.384 metros - 20.945 pies), Mariposa, Cayangate, Wakay Willca (o Verónica) Chicón y Pitusiray, que se encuentra a más de 5.500 m.s.n.m. (18.044 f.a.s.l.).

Estas montañas también son conocidas como las 'Montañas del Arco Iris
