Begin your adventure with a hike up the slopes of the active Misti Volcano, located just 23 km northeast of Arequipa. Enjoy breathtaking views of the highlands, villages, and countryside surrounding Arequipa as you make your way to the base camp. The hike is non-technical but challenging due to the altitude, requiring a good level of fitness. The ascent takes a maximum of 2 hours and 30 minutes, allowing you to reach as high as your physical condition permits. During the dry season (April to December), it’s recommended to start the hike in the afternoon to enjoy the sunset over Arequipa. In the rainy season, it’s better to begin in the morning. After the hike, take a short walk through the historic center of Arequipa. Admire the colonial streets and the beauty of the Plaza de Armas, a perfect way to end your adventure.
