La cascada de Ahuashiyacu

La cascada de Ahuashiyacu

Una espectacular cascada de aproximadamente 40 metros de altura. Su nombre significa 'agua que canta' o 'agua que ríe'. La cascada cae desde el cerro Escalera y se precipita en una piscina natural en su base. Las aguas del río se utilizan para el riego.

La zona posee una flora espectacular, con una gran variedad de orquídeas y helechos. También se ven mariposas, insectos y pájaros en la zona. También se puede nadar y bucear entre otros deportes.
 
La cascada Ahuashiyacu se encuentra en el distrito de Banda de Shilcayo, en el departamento de San Martín, a minutos de la ciudad de Tarapato.
