Day 1: Pickup is at 7:30 a.m. from your Arequipa hotel in a 4x4 vehicle. At 10:00 a.m., arrive at Pampa Cañahuas, located behind Chachani volcano. Prepare for the trek while the guide provides recommendations.
Begin a gradual two-hour ascent on foot to reach the base camp at 5,200 meters above sea level. Set up tents and enjoy lunch, which includes soup and pasta or canned food. At nightfall, have tea and rest.
Day 2: Start early at 2:00 a.m. with a warm breakfast before continuing the climb to Chachani’s summit. If weather permits, reach the summit around 5:00 a.m. Pause to rest and view surrounding volcanoes such as Coropuna, Ampato, Hualca Hualca, Sabancaya, Misti, and Ubinas.
After the summit stop, descend back to base camp with breaks for rest. A 4x4 vehicle will return you to Arequipa from the starting point.
