Description
DETAILED ITINERARY
6:00 am – 6:20 am – We start picking up from hotels in the town center.
6:30 am We begin our journey to the Salinas Lagoon, making various stops.
7:30 am - Our first visit will be to the Mirador de los Volcanes in the Chiguata district, which we will reach in about 45 minutes. From there, we will be able to see our iconic volcanoes and take photos. Later, we'll arrive in the town of Chiguata and visit its main square, where the traditional Espíritu Santo Church is located. After that, we'll enjoy a traditional breakfast from the area.
Then we'll continue on our way and, after a journey of approximately 1 hour, we'll stop at Alto Simbral (4,200 meters above sea level) where we'll be able to see plants from the area such as Queñua, Yareta, Tola, etc.
10:00 am - Continuing our tour, we will arrive at the Salinas Lagoon, where we will stay for 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes, making different stops to observe flamingos, parihuanas, water mirrors, and to spot vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas. At certain times, due to the dry season, we will visit the salt extraction centers where imagination is essential to take spectacular photographs.
11:00 am – Afterwards, we will enjoy the scenery by walking around the area or, optionally, enjoying the hot springs. Depending on the weather, we can take a short hike through the Reserve.
11:30 am - Return to the city of Arequipa
1:30 pm - Approximate arrival in the city of Arequipa and end of the sightseeing tour.
Drop-off very close to the main Plaza de Armas
On some occasions, the sightseeing tour may end at 4:30 pm, but you will be informed in advance. This is for logistical reasons.
