Discover the nature and cultural heritage of Chachapoyas on this 2-day program that combines a hike to Gocta Waterfall with a visit to the Kuélap Archaeological Complex. Day 1 – Gocta Waterfall Travel from Chachapoyas to the village of Cocachimba, the starting point of the hike to one of the most impressive waterfalls in the region. During the approximately two-hour hike, you'll pass through rural landscapes surrounded by fields of crops, sugarcane, sugar mills, and vegetation typical of the area. Along the way, you'll be able to spot orchids, birds, and butterflies while enjoying different views of Gocta Waterfall. When you reach the waterfall, you'll have time to take photos and, conditions permitting, cool off in the natural pool. Afterwards, you'll head back to Cocachimba to enjoy a typical lunch before returning to Chachapoyas. Day 2 – Kuélap Depart from Chachapoyas for the district of Nuevo Tingo, where you'll board the cable car that will take you to the La Malca rest area. From there, you'll take an approximately 30-minute hike to the Kuélap Archaeological Complex. Accompanied by your guide, you'll spend about 45 minutes exploring the interior of the complex and learning about its main structures and vestiges of the Chachapoyas culture. At the end of the visit, you will return to Nuevo Tingo to enjoy a typical lunch and then head back to Chachapoyas.
