Description
Discover the richness of the Sacred Valley of the Incas on this half-day tour of Moray, the Maras Salt Mines, and Chinchero Textiles. With a licensed local guide, you'll have a unique experience that combines culture, history, and living tradition.
In Moray, you will explore the impressive circular terraces, where you will learn about the ancient agricultural systems that allowed the development of Andean crops for centuries. Next, you'll visit the Salineras de Maras, famous for their production of ancestral salt, and learn about the traditional techniques used by local families who keep this tradition alive to this day.
The tour continues at Chinchero Textil, considered the heart of Andean textile culture. Here you'll have the opportunity to see demonstrations of handmade weaving, learn about natural dyes, and discover the symbolism and techniques that are passed down from generation to generation.
Our sightseeing tour begins with a pick-up at your hotel between 08:10 and 08:30 AM (a good time when you won't have to get up early).
Then we will travel in our vehicle in small groups for 40 minutes to our first place of visit, which is Chinchero. There, you will be able to see how people still maintain their culture through their clothing. You will be able to take photos and enjoy experiential tourism with them, learning about the natural dyeing they use. You will also see how they still make handmade fabrics. You will receive a hot mate as a welcome in clay cups made by them. Then we will travel for 30 minutes in our vehicle to our next stop, Moray (Inca agricultural laboratory). Our guide will give you all the information, and you will be able to go all the way around and pass through all the circular terraces. You will have enough time for photos.
Then, for 15 minutes, we'll head to the Salt Mines, where we'll have the opportunity to taste chocolates made with salt and also see a salt extraction demonstration by local people. You'll be able to buy salt and take it back to your country, as it's completely natural.
Finally, our sightseeing tour will end with our return to Cusco, arriving approximately between 2:00 and 2:30 pm and dropping you off at the Main Square of Cusco.
