How It Works: Machu Picchu operates on a circuit system, and the most popular circuits and time slots sell out months in advance. When you book, we immediately check which circuits and times are available for your date and contact you via WhatsApp to confirm your options. This means the specific areas you visit depend on what is available at the time of booking — the earlier you book, the more choices you have. We recommend booking 2-3 months ahead for the best selection.
Your guide meets you in Aguas Calientes and handles your bus transfer up to the citadel. Depending on your assigned circuit, you'll explore areas such as the Temple of the Sun, the Room of Three Windows, the Intihuatana stone, the agricultural terraces, and the iconic viewpoints. Your guide adapts the tour to whichever circuit is confirmed, ensuring you get the most out of the experience regardless of the route.
After the guided portion (approximately 2-3 hours), enjoy any remaining free time on your circuit before taking the bus back down.
Short-Notice Bookings (less than 2 weeks) And High Season (April–September): If online entry tickets are sold out for your date, you will be required to arrive in Aguas Calientes up to 1-3 days early to reserve one of the 1,000 daily in-person tickets at the Cultural Office. We will contact you after the booking if this applies to your dates. In this scenario, every guest must show their passports at the office in person. Our team is based in Aguas Calientes and will guide you through this process, and help coordinate any hotel or train changes. We cannot queue in the line on your behalf. You may message us through GetYourGuide, or WhatsApp us directly before booking to confirm circuit availability for your date.
Need the full day handled? Add round-trip train tickets from and a private car transfer. We coordinate everything so nothing is left to chance. Private car addon will cover any drives between Cusco and Ollantaytambo as well as airport pickup and drop-off. If you only buy the train addon you will need to arrange transportation to the train station.
The base price includes your private guide, entry ticket, round-trip bus, and a tour coordinator.
