Begin your adventure with a pickup from your accommodation in Cusco. Head to the picturesque town of Cusipata, located approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes from Cusco. Enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast prepared with local ingredients and have access to restroom facilities before continuing the journey.
Next, travel to the historic town of Checacupe, where you can admire centuries-old bridges that reflect the fascinating history and engineering of ancient Andean civilizations.
After approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes of driving, arrive at the community of Palccoyo. Along the way, see South American camelids and observe the daily life of local Andean communities.
From here, continue toward the spectacular Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain, located at approximately 4,900 m / 16,076 ft above sea level. Begin a scenic 40-minute hike toward the viewpoint of the Three Rainbow Mountains. Surrounded by colorful peaks and peaceful high-Andean landscapes, your guide will share insights into the Andean worldview and the importance of the mountains, known locally as Apus.
Those who wish can continue to the highest point of the route, where the impressive Stone Forest awaits. Take time to explore its unique rock formations, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views, and connect with the mystical atmosphere of the Andes.
After exploring Palccoyo, return to Cusipata for a delicious lunch featuring a variety of Peruvian dishes, perfect for recovering your energy after the hike. After lunch and a short rest, begin your journey back to Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:30 PM.
