Description
The experience begins with a pick-up from your accommodation or a meeting point in Cusco to head towards Chinchero, a traditional Andean village renowned for its fabrics made with ancestral techniques and for its colonial church built on ancient Inca walls. Here you will learn about the local customs and the cultural importance that this town retains to this day.
You will continue to Moray, a unique archaeological complex made up of circular terraces that were used by the Incas as an agricultural experimentation center. Learn how the temperature variation between its levels made it possible to develop different crops adapted to various ecosystems.
The next stop will be the impressive Salineras de Maras, made up of thousands of ponds fed by a natural spring that continues to be used by local families through traditional methods passed down from generation to generation. This landscape offers one of the most photographed settings in the Sacred Valley.
During the tour, you will enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant, where you can sample a variety of typical Peruvian dishes before continuing the excursion.
In the afternoon, you'll visit Ollantaytambo, one of the best-preserved Inca towns in Peru. Tour its imposing archaeological complex while learning about the strategic, military, and religious role it played during the Inca Empire. Its terraces, temples, and stone streets retain much of their original design.
The last visit will be to the Pisac Archaeological Complex, famous for its extensive agricultural terraces, ceremonial enclosures, and privileged views of the Sacred Valley. From this place, you can appreciate Inca engineering and understand the importance of this center as an agricultural, religious, and administrative space.
At the end of the tour, you'll return to the city of Cuzco with a more complete view of the history, culture and traditions that made the Sacred Valley one of the most important places in the ancient Inca Empire.
