Join this journey crafted for those who seek meaning beyond the challenge. With thoughtfully designed campsites and freshly prepared meals, each day blends physical effort with cultural depth, offering a richer way to experience Peru. Day 1: Cusco - Humantay Lake - Salkantay Glamp Campsite Begin your adventure with an early 4:30 am pickup, followed by a 3-hour scenic drive to Mollepata, where you’ll enjoy breakfast before meeting your trekking team. From the trailhead, it’s a three-hour hike to the turquoise waters of Humantay Lake (4,200 m). After taking in the views, we’ll descend to Soraypampa for lunch, then continue a gentle two-hour climb to the Salkantay Glamp campsite (4,150 m). Here, a warm dinner and a sky full of stars await before you settle into your cozy tent. Day 2: Salkantay Pass - Wayracmachay - Cloud Forest Start the day with fresh coffee or coca tea before hiking up to the Salkantay Pass (4,630 m), the highest point of the trek. Take in the mountain views and stop by a nearby glacial lake before beginning a long descent. After lunch at Wayracmachay, the trail leads you down through shifting landscapes as the highlands give way to the lush cloud forest. By evening, you’ll arrive at Collpapampa (2,770 m) and settle into comfortable Andean huts for the night. Day 3: Pachamanca & Coffee Experience - Llactapata After breakfast, journey through scenic trails, crossing wooden bridges and passing waterfalls and plantations, leading to Lucmabamba (2,000 m). Here, we’ll enjoy a traditional Pachamanca Barbecue and visit local coffee farms to taste freshly brewed coffee. In the afternoon, follow the Inca Trail for about three hours to reach Llactapata (2,750 m), an Inca site that reveals your first stunning view of Machu Picchu. Spend the night camping with the citadel right in sight. Day 4: Llactapata - Hydroelectrica - Aguas Calientes Start your morning with a view of Machu Picchu from your tent and a freshly brewed coffee. Descend for 2 hours to the hydroelectric station, enjoying a final brunch with your team. Then, take a 3-hour hike along the railway and Urubamba River to Aguas Calientes, with a stop to explore the Mandor Botanical Gardens, rich in birdlife and orchids. Check into your hotel in Aguas Calientes, and spend the evening exploring or relaxing at the hot springs, followed by dinner at a local restaurant. Day 5: Explore Machu Picchu - Return to Cusco The highlight of your trek awaits—Machu Picchu! After an early breakfast, take one of the first buses up to witness sunrise over this wonder of the world. Enjoy a guided tour of the citadel (2–3 hours), then explore on your own or hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain if you’ve booked in advance. Afterward, head back to Aguas Calientes for lunch before boarding the Panoramic Vistadome train to Ollantaytambo. A private van will return you to Cusco, arriving around 7:30 pm.
