Highlights
- Enjoy a healing bath
- Unique nature and landscapes
- Visit the Traditional Blue Lagoon
Description
The sightseeing tour begins with a pick-up from the hotel and departure to the district of Sauce, located approximately 50 km from Tarapoto. Along the way, you'll pass through landscapes typical of the high jungle, with mountains covered in vegetation and small rural communities.
One of the most striking moments of the tour is the crossing of the Huallaga River, which is done by a platform or ferry, depending on the operating conditions. The crossing lets you appreciate the width of the river and the scenery surrounding this important Amazonian watercourse.
Arrival in Sauce and the Blue Lagoon
Upon arrival in the district of Sauce, you'll find the Blue Lagoon, also known as the Lagoon of Sauce, a vast mirror of water surrounded by mountains, tropical vegetation, and small rural areas.
The tranquility of the place lets you enjoy an atmosphere completely different from that of Tarapoto. Its waters and the mountainous landscape create an ideal setting for photographs and for relaxing in contact with nature.
Boat ride on the lagoon
One of the main activities of the sightseeing tour is the boat ride on the Blue Lagoon. During the cruise, you can see the landscape from the water, appreciate the vegetation on the shores, and discover some of the lagoon's most iconic spots.
Time to enjoy nature
After the boat ride, you have free time to enjoy the lagoon surroundings. Depending on the program booked and local conditions, this time can be used to rest, walk, take photographs, or do recreational activities.
It is also possible to enjoy the local gastronomy, especially dishes prepared with products from the Amazon region.
Lunch surrounded by nature
Lunch can be at a local restaurant in Sauce, where you can sample specialties of Amazonian cuisine. Typical options include dishes made with fish, plantain, cassava, and other products from the rainforest.
Return to Tarapoto
In the afternoon, the return trip to Tarapoto begins. The route allows you to enjoy the landscapes of the high jungle again and cross the Huallaga River once more before continuing to the city.
Arrival in Tarapoto is scheduled for approximately the end of the afternoon, concluding a day dedicated to discovering one of the most representative natural landscapes of San Martin.
The visit to Sauce is not just an excursion to a lagoon. It's an experience that lets you connect different landscapes of the Peruvian Amazon in a single day: mountains, rainforest, river, rural communities, and the tranquility of the Blue Lagoon.
The contrast between the road trip, the crossing of the Huallaga, and the cruise on the lagoon makes the trip a varied experience, ideal for travelers looking for nature, scenery, local culture, and moments of relaxation.
