Discover the Amazon rainforest on a full-day experience from Iquitos, combining river navigation, wildlife, jungle nature, local traditions and a stay at Amazon Camp Lodge. Your experience begins with airport pickup and a transfer to the embarkation point, crossing the emblematic Nanay Bridge while receiving an introduction to Iquitos and the surrounding area. Navigate to the confluence of the Amazon and Nanay rivers, where their contrasting waters create a unique natural landscape. Continue to a local Amazonian animal rescue center, where you can observe species such as monkeys, toucans, macaws, sloths, mata-mata turtles and anacondas. The adventure continues at a traditional sugarcane trapiche, where you can taste freshly extracted cane juice and learn about Amazonian medicinal plants, traditional preparations and local macerated drinks. Then visit the Macrodonte insectarium to discover tarantulas, stick insects, giant crickets, frogs, macrodontes and Amazonian snakes. Around midday, arrive at Amazon Camp Lodge, where you will settle into a comfortable bungalow surrounded by rainforest and enjoy lunch prepared with fresh regional ingredients. In the afternoon, you can choose an optional adventure activity: a suspension bridge and zipline circuit through the forest canopy. The zipline experience is optional and costs US$20 per person. Afterward, take an interpretive jungle walk to learn about the Amazon ecosystem and its biodiversity. Continue to a Bora community, where you can experience traditional dances, customs and ancestral cultural practices.
