Description
Day 1: Inca Trail, Sacsayhuaman, and Scenic Spots of Cusco
- We begin with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco and travel by van to the eucalyptus forest of Qenqo. From there, we'll begin our hike (heading back to the city) along a unique trail that follows original remnants of the Qhapaq Ñan, also known as the Inca Royal Road. This trail will take us to the Sacsayhuamán Archaeological Park, which we will visit. We'll then continue along the Inca Trail, which leads directly into the city of Cusco to the San Cristobal district. We'll descend through picturesque streets, such as Calle Siete Borreguitos (Seven Little Lambs), to take photos. Next, we'll see the Twelve-Angled Stone and finally visit the Temple of the Sun, Coricancha. Return to your hotel.
