Description

Begin your visit at a Peruvian micro-vineyard in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, featuring the highest Syrah vines in the world, growing at 3018 meters (9,900 feet) above sea level. Enjoy a look around the vines and any other crops that are growing on the small farm at the time of your visit. Be given an explanation of high-altitude viticulture by hosts Gary and Malka at their home near the village of Calca. Gary is an Englishman, and Malka is his Peruvian wife, both are WSET-qualified sommeliers running wine tourism around the world. After a look around the vines, with a welcome glass of Peruvian white in your hand, head inside to enjoy a guided tasting of 3 more Peruvian wines. The 4 wines you will taste will be from different regions of Peru, and you will be able to try, probably for the first time, the flagship grape variety of Peru, Quebranta. Be guided through the wines and be free to ask any wine questions you may have, all while enjoying some local bread and cheese.
