Description
We start our adventure very early with pick-up from your hotel between 3:30 AM and 4:00 AM. From there, we will enjoy a scenic drive through the South Valley along the Vilcanota River for about 1 hour 45 minutes, arriving in Cusipata, where you will have 30 minutes to enjoy your breakfast.
We continue our tour through high Andean villages, enjoying breathtaking views of the landscape and observing llamas and alpacas in their natural habitat. We'll arrive at the start of the hike in the town of Kayrahuiri, where you'll receive instructions about the hike.
We begin the hike towards the Ausangate Mountain Range, ascending for about 45 minutes to the top of the famous Mountain of Colors (approximately 5,200 meters above sea level). Along the way, you'll be able to see different South American camelids, and when you reach the vantage point, you'll enjoy spectacular views of the Andean landscape.
After taking in the incredible views of the Mountain of Colors, we continue descending along a flatter path for about 35 minutes until we return to the starting point of the trail. From there, we return to Cusipata for a delicious buffet lunch included.
Finally, we'll return to the city of Cusco, arriving at the Plazoleta de Regocijo around 4:30 to 5:00 PM, near many hotels, bringing to a close an unforgettable day exploring one of the most breathtaking landscapes in the Andes.
