Description

Pick-up from your hotel near Plaza de Armas or meeting point at the Plaza de Armas fountain between 6:30 am and 7:00 am. The tour begins in our tourist transport. We will take a guided tour of archaeological sites, including Chinchero, a picturesque town home to a colonial church in the Andean style built on the foundations of Inca architecture. We will also stop at a textile center in this town to observe the process of making handicrafts such as sweaters, hats, ponchos, etc. Next, we will visit Moray, a truly remarkable site built in the Inca era as a circular agricultural laboratory. We will then continue to the Sal de Maras Salt Mines (Salineras), where natural salt is extracted for the whole of Peru. Continuing on, at noon we will stop for a buffet lunch in the town of Urubamba (lunch included). We will then visit Ollantaytambo, a very important site considered one of the first points of entry to Machu Picchu and its living culture. Finally, we will visit the archaeological site of Pisac, followed by a visit to an artisan jewelry shop, where we will see up close how the most beautiful jewelry is made. Afterward, we will return to the city of Cusco (arrival around 7:00 PM). End of the tour 2 blocks from Plaza de Armas.
