Description

Begin your day with hotel pickup in Cusco. Travel about 105 km southeast in private transport toward the breathtaking Nevado Ausangate. Along the way, pass through picturesque Andean villages and watch the sunrise illuminate the mountain landscapes. Upon arrival, receive a brief orientation from your guide, including useful tips for handling the altitude. Then, enjoy an energizing breakfast before setting off on your hike. Begin your trek at approximately 4,300 meters (14,100 ft). Over a 15 km (round trip) route, walk through rolling hills and high-altitude plains, surrounded by spectacular views of snow-capped peaks. Explore the seven most beautiful lakes in the area, starting with Azul Cocha, known for its brilliant turquoise color. Continue to Pucacocha, Alqacocha, Otorongo, and others—each offering unique shades and stunning scenery. Along the way, spot llamas, alpacas, and native Andean birds. The towering Nevado Ausangate (6,384 m / 20,945 ft) will be a constant and impressive backdrop as your guide shares insights into local ecosystems and cultural traditions.
