Description
Day 1. This adventure begins in the city of Arequipa. We pick you up from your hotel between 3:00 AM and 3:30 AM to head by tour bus to the Colca Canyon. We'll have breakfast en route, then continue and stop at the Cruz del Condor vantage point for 30 minutes to enjoy the view of the canyon and also watch the flight of the condor. Continuing our journey, we'll head to the start of the hike.
At 9:00 AM, we arrive at the starting point of the trek. From here, we will descend for three hours on foot to the San Juan de Chuccho Valley. During the route, we will enjoy beautiful landscapes. In San Juan de Chuccho, we will have lunch, and then continue walking for three more hours, with ups and downs, to the Sangalle Oasis. At the Sangalle Oasis, we will enjoy a pool in the middle of the mountains. We will also have dinner and spend the night in beautiful accommodation.
Day 2. At 5 AM, we will begin the three-hour ascent from the Sangalle Oasis to Cabanaconde. Reaching the summit is a beautiful challenge for all travelers.
In Cabanaconde, we will have breakfast and then board the return bus. On the route, we will stop at several main vantage points. We will also stop for an hour at the Chacapi hot springs in the town of Yanque. Then we will head to the town of Chivay for lunch. We will have 40 minutes to eat, and then, with the help of the tour guide, we will transfer to the tour bus that will take us to the city of Puno.
The bus to the city of Puno leaves the town of Chivay at 1:00 PM and arrives at the main square of Puno at 7:30 PM. On this section of the route, we will stop at three attractions. The first attraction is the Volcanoes vantage point, the highest point of the route, to observe the volcanoes in the area. The second attraction is Tocrapampa, which is part of the Salinas and Aguada Blanca Reserve. Here, we can see South American camelids such as llamas, alpacas, vicuñas and others. And as a third attraction, we will stop at Lagunillas, a beautiful lagoon surrounded by rocks that graces our route.
We will thus conclude our tour in the main square of the city of Puno at approximately 7:30 PM.

- On this two-day adventure, we will walk approximately 24 kilometers, with climbs, descents, and very little flat terrain.
On day 1, we'll walk approximately 16 kilometers (12 km downhill and 4 km uphill), and on day 2, we'll walk approximately 8 kilometers (all uphill).
For this reason, an adequate level of fitness is required.
