Description
Typical Itinerary: Full-Day Colca Canyon Sightseeing Tour + Meals
• Early Departure from Arequipa: We start the adventure with pickup between 3:00 a.m. and 3:20 a.m. from your accommodation in downtown Arequipa or at the Plaza de Armas, beginning our journey to the Colca Valley.
• Breakfast and Tradition in Chivay: We stop in Chivay to enjoy a hearty breakfast, accompanied by a colorful performance of typical local dances.
• Village of Maca: We'll visit the picturesque village of Maca to admire its beautiful colonial church, learn about the typical local dress, and shop for handicrafts. Then, we head to the most anticipated spot.
• Condor's Cross Vantage Point. Here, you will have about 1 hour to watch the majestic flight of the condor and admire the impressive depth of the canyon, as well as to see the Andes mountain range.
• Panoramic Vantage Points and Tasting: We'll stop at the Antahuilque vantage points to admire the impressive pre-Inca and Inca agricultural terraces. In addition, you'll enjoy an exclusive tasting of Colca Sour, prepared with the fruit of the local cactus (sancayo).
• Relaxation in Hot Springs (Optional): Enjoy some downtime in the relaxing hot springs of Chacapi in Yanque, located in a unique natural setting by the Colca River, with other activity options also available.
• Buffet Lunch Included: We'll head back to Yanque to enjoy a delicious all-you-can-eat lunch with a variety of typical Andean and international dishes at a local restaurant.
• Scenic Drive Back and View of the Volcanoes: On the way back to Arequipa, we'll stop at the famous Mirador de los Volcanes (Patapampa) at 4,910 meters above sea level to take spectacular photos. We'll also explore the Tocra wetlands and the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve (Pampa Cañahuas), where you'll see vicuñas, alpacas, llamas, and high Andean birds up close. We'll make an optional brief stop in Patahuasi to buy handicrafts or have a hot drink.
• Arrival in Arequipa: We arrive in the city of Arequipa around 5:00 p.m. The sightseeing tour ends near Plaza de Armas, wrapping up an unforgettable day filled with nature, culture, and Andean landscapes.
