Description

Your day begins with a 4:00 AM hotel pickup in Cusco followed by a transfer to the Ollantaytambo train station (about 1 hour 40 minutes by car). If departing from Poroy station, the transfer is 30 minutes. The train journey to Aguas Calientes takes approximately 3.5 hours.

Board the train at Ollantaytambo at 6:10 AM and enjoy panoramic views of the Andes, rivers, and surrounding wildlife. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, agency staff will meet you and provide instructions before transferring to the bus station. A 30-minute zigzag bus ride takes you up to the Machu Picchu citadel.

At Machu Picchu, present your tickets and ID at the entrance to begin a 2-hour guided tour covering the main archaeological sites and the history of the Inca civilization.

After the tour, return by bus to Aguas Calientes where you may have lunch or visit the thermal baths (both at your own expense). In the afternoon, take the return train to Ollantaytambo, where you will be transferred back to Cusco.
