Description

Your experience begins early in the morning with a 3:00 am pickup directly from your hotel in Cusco. From there, you will travel in comfortable transportation for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to the town of Cusipata, located in the southern valley. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast, giving you time to relax and get ready for the day ahead.

After breakfast, the journey continues for another 1 hour and 30 minutes through scenic Andean landscapes until you reach the community of kayrawiri alta (around 8:00 am), which serves as the starting point of the hike.

From here, you will begin a gradual hike toward Rainbow Mountain. The ascent takes approximately 2 hours, depending on your pace, and your guide will accompany you throughout, ensuring a safe and steady experience. If you prefer not to hike, there are optional services available at the starting point, including horseback riding or motorcycle rides with a driver that can take you close to the summit. These services are managed locally and require an additional cash payment.

At around 10:30 am, you will reach the summit of Rainbow Mountain, located at over 5,000 meters above sea level. Here, you will have approximately one hour to take in the breathtaking views, explore the area, and capture photographs of this unique natural formation. Arriving earlier in the day allows you to enjoy the mountain with fewer crowds and better conditions.

After spending time at Rainbow Mountain, the experience continues with a 35-minute walk toward the Red Valley viewpoint. This area is less visited by most tours and offers a completely different landscape, with striking red-colored mountains and wide open views, making it one of the highlights of the day.

Once you have explored the Red Valley, you will begin your descent back to kayrawiri alto, where your transportation will be waiting for you. From there, you will return to Cusipata for a well-deserved buffet lunch around 1:00 pm, where you can rest and recover after the hike.

Finally, you will board your transport for the return journey to Cusco. The estimated arrival time is around 4:30 pm, with drop-off near the Plaza de Armas or as close as possible to your hotel.
