Description
Day 1: Puno – Uros Island – Amantani
After pickup and transfer to the main port, take a boat to Uros Island, a floating island made from totora reeds. Learn how locals weave the reeds to build and maintain the island. Optionally, experience a ride on a traditional reed boat known as a 'balsa de totora' (additional fee).
Next, continue to Amantani Island where a local family will host you for lunch featuring regional ingredients. Visit the pre-Inca Pachatata temple, then hike to the island’s peak (4,130 meters) to view the sunset over the lake. Dinner and overnight stay are at the host family’s home.
Day 2: Amantani – Taquile – Puno
After breakfast, travel to Taquile Island, known for its textile crafts and traditional customs. Learn about the island’s pre-Inca temples, tombs, and farming techniques. Note that lunch on Taquile is not included. Return to Puno in the afternoon with transfer back to your hotel.
