Description
The Mountain of Colors, located at 5,000 meters above sea level, is the second most visited tourist spot in the city of Cusco after Machu Picchu. It is very striking for its natural colors due to the oxidation of minerals.
We start picking people up from any hotel in the city of Cusco at around 4:00 am.
Start of our sightseeing tour. We'll take a 1-hour and 40-minute drive in our vehicle to reach the first stop, the village of Cusipata, where we'll enjoy a delicious all-you-can-eat breakfast at Restaurante Museo Casa Ausangate.
After breakfast, we'll continue our journey by van for 2 hours to reach the Rainbow Mountain bus parking lot. During the journey, we'll admire the stunning Andean landscapes and spot birds, llamas, and alpacas.
Once at the Montaña de Colores bus parking lot, we start the hike in the company of our sightseeing tour guide, who is an expert on the route. The hike will last 45 minutes to 1 hour to reach the Montaña de Colores vantage point. On our new route, you also have the option to rent linear motorcycles and horses to avoid the hike, after coordinating with the tour guide.
At Rainbow Mountain, you can appreciate the incomparable landscape of the Peruvian Andes and the mountain with its natural colors. Take lots of videos and spectacular photos of the place, then continue with the hike to the Valle Rojo vantage point with an additional 35-minute journey (pay an entrance ticket of 30 soles). Note: Those who no longer wish to continue to Valle Rojo have the option to return from Montaña de Colores to the bus station after coordinating with the tour guide.
Once the whole group has gathered at the bus parking lot, we begin the 1 hour and 40 minute return trip by vehicle to the village of Cusipata to enjoy a delicious Peruvian buffet lunch.
Then we continue with the 2-hour return trip to the city of Cusco.
End of the sightseeing tour at approximately 4:30 PM, 1 block from the Plaza de Armas, for the whole group.
