Begin your adventure with a hotel pickup in Iquitos and a transfer to the tourist pier Bella Vista Nanay. Board a comfortable and safe PAMACARI boat and set off on your journey. Make a stop to observe the meeting point of the Nanay and Amazon rivers, where you can see the difference in water colors. Continue toward a town called San Juan de Huashalado, located about 1 hour and 40 minutes downstream by boat on the great Amazon River, considered one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World. After a 5-minute walk crossing the town of San Juan de Huashalado, reach the Yanayacu River, which means “black-water river,” to discover the kingdom of giant trees and its impressive flora and fauna. By boat, follow the course of the Yanayacu River to explore this area rich in birdlife, with the chance to spot animals camouflaged among the foliage and treetops (monkeys, birds, and sloths) in their natural habitat.
