The 1-day tour to Huayna Machu Picchu begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Cusco at 4 a.m.
After a 1-hour 30-minute trip through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, you will arrive at the train station in Ollantaytambo, ready to board your train at 6:10 AM. The 1 hour 45 minute trip to Aguas Calientes will delight you with breathtaking landscapes of snow-capped mountains and Inca cultivation terraces. Our company guide will meet you at the train station and escort you to the bus station in the town of Machu Picchu.
Together with our guide, we'll take a 30-minute coach trip to the mountain, arriving at the main entrance of Machu Picchu. Here you will present your passports and entrance tickets and begin your 3-hour guided visit to the Inca citadel.
During the tour, your tour guide will take you on a journey through the rich history of the Inca sanctuary, leading you through its famous sites to the legendary panoramic vantage point. From there, you'll be in the best position to enjoy the perfect view of Machu Picchu and the iconic bucket list photos you've been waiting for.
With a camera full of photos, you'll continue with your tour guide through the ancient Inca streets until you reach iconic landmarks such as the Temple of the Sun, the central square, and the iconic stepped terraces. And before boarding the coach to descend the mountain, your tour guide will also give you time to explore the mysteries of the sanctuary on your own.
Once you have met your tour guide and taken the coach back to Aguas Calientes, there will be time for lunch at one of the many restaurants in the villages of Machu Picchu (optional) before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo.
There, you will be greeted by your tour guide and your tourist transportation, which will take you on the 2-hour trip back to your hotel in Cusco. The arrival time in Cusco is approximately 8 PM.
