Description

Experience the Amazon rainforest on a 3-day, 2-night adventure from Puerto Maldonado. Stay at a jungle lodge surrounded by tropical forest and explore the biodiversity of the Madre de Dios region through boat trips, rainforest walks and wildlife excursions. Day 1 – Puerto Maldonado, Monkey Island & Wildlife Your adventure begins with pickup at Puerto Maldonado Airport or the bus station. Travel to the port and board a boat for approximately one hour along the Madre de Dios River to reach your jungle lodge. Enjoy a refreshing welcome drink made with local fruits before settling into your room. After lunch, visit Monkey Island, located across the river from the lodge. Walk through the island with your guide and look for different species of monkeys living in the rainforest. At night, take a boat excursion along the Madre de Dios River to look for caimans and other wildlife along the riverbanks. You may also have the chance to spot capybaras. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation. Day 2 – Sandoval Lake & Night Walk After breakfast, walk approximately 3 kilometers through the rainforest toward Sandoval Lake, located in the Tambopata region. Once at the lake, board a rowing boat and explore its calm waters while looking for wildlife. Keep an eye out for monkeys, colorful birds and other rainforest species. With some luck, you may see giant river otters and caimans. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the evening, enjoy a guided night walk through the rainforest. Discover insects, amphibians, reptiles and other nocturnal species that become active after dark. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation. Day 3 – Canopy Walk-Way & Return to Puerto Maldonado Wake up early for a visit to the Canopy Walk-Way, with platforms located around 30 meters above the ground. Enjoy panoramic views of the Madre de Dios River from the treetops and look for birds such as toucans, macaws, tanagers and oropendolas. After breakfast, return by boat to Puerto Maldonado and transfer to the airport or bus station, marking the end of your Amazon adventure. Included: 2 nights of accommodation, meals, guided activities, transportation between Puerto Maldonado and the lodge, swimming pool and Wi-Fi. Not included: Alcoholic beverages, tips, personal expenses and services not mentioned in the itinerary.
