Description

Ready to conquer the Andes on an expedition designed for those seeking authenticity and total disconnection? This 2-day Salkantay Trek isn't a conventional tour; it's a deep dive into Andean culture, where the comfort of our exclusive cabins in Okidoki meets the majesty of the glaciers. Day 1: To the heart of the glaciers We'll start our adventure early, picking you up from your accommodation in Cusco between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. We'll travel to the picturesque town of Mollepata, where we'll recharge our batteries with an energy breakfast. After a short ride, we'll arrive at Soraypampa (3,900 m), the starting point of our journey. We'll hike for an hour and a half to discover the hidden gem of the Andes: the Humantay Lagoon. Its intense turquoise color, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, will take your breath away. After enjoying this unique landscape, we'll head to our exclusive 'Sky Lodge Salkantay Base Camp' in Okidoki (4,050 m). Here, the experience changes: you'll enjoy a restorative lunch with privileged panoramic views, away from the hustle and bustle of massive groups. We'll spend the night in our private cabins, a cozy refuge where you can totally unwind under the starry sky of the Andes. Day 2: The Salkantay summit and the return We'll wake up early (5:30 a.m.) to witness the first rays of the sun over the peaks. We'll start the ascent to the imposing Abra Salkantay (4,620 m). The effort will be worth it when you reach this sacred point, where our guide will perform a ceremony of thanks to the Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the Apus (sacred mountains), an intimate moment that connects your spirit with the history of our region. After this moment of reflection, we'll head down to our base camp to enjoy a final lunch before starting our return. We'll walk for an hour to Soraypampa, where our private transport will be waiting to take us back to Cusco, arriving at approximately 6:00 p.m. Why choose this experience? Unlike crowded routes, our itinerary optimizes time so you can enjoy the solitude and peace that only the great mountains offer. By staying overnight in our Okidoki cabins, you'll avoid the discomfort of traditional tents, ensuring you face the second day with renewed energy. Come and experience Salkantay with a human, responsible, and deeply unforgettable approach!
