Description

Day One: Puerto Maldonado to the Lodge
Upon arrival at Puerto Maldonado airport or bus station, transfer to the office for registration followed by lunch. Begin with the Canopy Tower experience, a 35-meter high platform for zip-lining through the forest canopy. Later, take a boat ride on the Madre de Dios River to look for caimans resting on the banks and possibly spot capybaras. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Note: Arrival flight must be before 13:00 for transfer arrangements.

Day Two: Lake Sandoval
After early breakfast, walk approximately three kilometers (two miles) to Lake Sandoval, a known piranha habitat within Tambopata National Reserve. Take a rowing boat with a guide to observe bird species such as hoatzin, cormorant, jacanas, heron, and eagles, as well as monkeys and sloths. Look out for giant river otters, an endangered species, and possibly the largest recorded alligator. Lunch is served at the lodge. In the evening, enjoy a guided night walk to see nocturnal insects, amphibians, reptiles, and other wildlife. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day Three: Parrots and Parakeets Clay Lick – Return to Puerto Maldonado
Depart early to visit the parrots and parakeets clay lick where these birds gather to consume mineral-rich clay that neutralizes toxins from their diet. Return to the lodge by 7:00 am for breakfast, then take a boat departing at 10:30 am back to Puerto Maldonado. Transfer to airport or bus station concludes the service.
Note: Return flight must be scheduled after 13:00 for transportation.
