DAY 1: INCA TRAIL HIKE Departure from Ollantaytambo or Cusco: Your adventure begins with a scenic train journey from Ollantaytambo to the start point of the Inca Trail, offering breathtaking views of the Andean landscape. Once we get to the head trail, we will embark on a captivating trek through the lush Andean cloud forest, where verdant foliage, diverse flora, and the symphony of nature create an immersive experience unlike any other. Visit the Archaeological Site of Wiñay Wayna: Explore the enigmatic ruins of Wiñay Wayna, an ancient Incan site adorned with terraces, ceremonial centers, and panoramic vistas, offering a glimpse into the architectural prowess of the Incas. Have a lunch box in the middle of the way, and then in the afternoon reach the iconic Sun Gate, Inti Punku, and savor breathtaking panoramic views of Machu Picchu. We include your entrance on Circuit 1B, which is the best view of Machu Picchu. Finally, at the end of the day, descend to Aguas Calientes; if you book in advance, we will book an additional entrance to Machu Picchu. If your booking is last minute, we will need to line up for a second entrance to Machu Picchu. DAY 2: MACHUPICCHU WONDERFUL TOUR Early Morning Ascent to Machu Picchu: We begin the day with an early morning ascent to the legendary citadel of Machu Picchu, a mesmerizing journey that unveils the enigmatic allure of this ancient Incan marvel. During the Machu Picchu tour, our package provides full access to both circuit 1 on the first day and circuit 3 on the second day. After the guided tour, relish in personal exploration, allowing you to discover the secrets and hidden corners of Machu Picchu at your pace, capturing the essence of this timeless wonder. Descend to Aguas Calientes for lunch and an optional visit to the hot springs, offering a rejuvenating soak amidst the tranquil surroundings, providing a delightful conclusion to your day adventure. Afternoon Train Journey Return to Ollantaytambo and make your way back to your hotel in Cusco. Hiking Distance: 13 km / 8 miles Number of Days: 2 Highest Elevation: 2,720 m/8,924 ft (Sungate). Lowest Elevation: 2170 m/7120 ft (Chachabamba). Best Time to Hike: March to December. Difficulty: Moderate-Difficult (depending on your physical conditions).
