Description

Day 1. We'll pick you up from your hotel between 7:00 and 7:30 in the morning. So we can head to Cabanaconde. During the tour, we'll stop at different attractions. Our first stop will be Tocrapampa, where you'll be able to spot South American camelids like llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas living freely in the mountains. Our second stop is in Patahuasi, where we'll have a short break. You can use the restrooms, and we can also enjoy a coca tea that will help us with the altitude at the next viewpoint. Our third stop is the viewpoint of the volcanoes. From this point, you can enjoy the view of the volcanic chain of southern Peru, including Misti, Chachani, Sabancaya, Ampato, and others. Next, we'll have our fourth stop at the Antahuilque viewpoint. For the fifth stop, we'll head to the Granja del Colca restaurant, located at a natural viewpoint of the Colca Canyon. Here, we'll have lunch with a panoramic view of the Colca Canyon. Here, we'll get ready to start our 2.5-hour hike to the village of Cabanaconde. Our hike kicks off at the Granja del Colca. This hike follows an ancient trail with gentle slopes, a medium to low level, and an elevation gain of 80 meters. It skirts the top of the canyon, offering panoramic views of the Colca Canyon. Sometimes, you can see the flight of the condor in all its glory. During this hike, we'll pass by different viewpoints, such as the Tapay viewpoint and the San Miguel viewpoint. We'll arrive in Cabanaconde at approximately 5:00 in the afternoon. We'll settle into our hotel and then have dinner. After dinner, we'll spend the night. Day 2 We'll have breakfast. Then we'll head to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint. At the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, we'll stop for an hour to enjoy the flight of the condor and the view from the main viewpoint of the Colca Canyon. Then, we'll continue the tour until we reach the Antahuilque viewpoint, where we'll enjoy the view of the pre-Inca terraces of the Colca Valley. Then we'll continue and stop at the Chacapi (Yanque) hot springs, where we'll spend about an hour. Then we'll head to Chivay for lunch at a restaurant, and then continue our trip to the city of Arequipa. We'll arrive in Arequipa at approximately 5:00 p.m. The tour ends two blocks from the Plaza de Armas in Arequipa. This tour is special and unique for the following reasons. We'll visit exclusive viewpoints, where we'll avoid mass tourism. Tapay viewpoint and Sanmiguel viewpoint. We'll have our first lunch with a panoramic view of the Colca Canyon We'll take a unique 2.5-hour hike along an ancient path. We'll sleep in the village of Cabanaconde, unlike the conventional tours that offer to sleep in Chivay.

Important Information

  • This tour includes a two-hour walk. From the Condor Cross to Cabanaconde. The hike is flat with slight descents. If you don't want to hike, you can continue this section by car until you reach Cabanaconde.
