Description

Detailed itinerary: DAY 01: 7:30 to 8:00 am - We'll pick you up from hotels in downtown Arequipa. 8:00 am - We'll start our trip to one of the deepest and most beautiful canyons in the world. Our base will be the town of Chivay, which we'll reach in about 4 hours, including all the tourist stops. First, we'll pass through Pampa Cañahuas, where you can see the vicuñas that live in this area. After that, we'll visit nearby Patahuasi to try the traditional coca tea, a traditional drink that's great for altitude sickness. Then we'll make a quick stop at the Bofedales de Toccra, where you'll see lots of alpacas grazing freely in the area. A must-see stop is the Mirador de los Volcanes, the highest point of the road that reaches 4800 meters above sea level, from where you'll appreciate a large part of the western mountain range. From this point, it's only 40 minutes to the town of Chivay. 12:30 pm - We'll arrive in Chivay to enjoy a delicious lunch (paid by the client). After lunch, we'll settle into our respective hotels. In the afternoon, you can enjoy a relaxing dip in the Hot Springs (optional entry, paid by the client), where the thermal medicinal waters range from 35º C to 38º C in the pools. For dinner (not included), you can enjoy a folk show with typical local dances. Spend the night in Chivay. DAY 02: Breakfast. After breakfast, we'll head to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor, which is an hour away. It's the observation point for the Colca Canyon and the spectacular flight of the Condor. At this point, you'll spend about 45 minutes to admire the beauty of the Colca Canyon. On the way back, we'll stop at the viewpoints in the area to admire the impressive Andenería del Valle and in the village of Maca, where you can see its church and, if you like, try local drinks like Colca Sour, made with local products. 1:00 pm – We'll head towards the city of Puno, making two stops along the way. We'll stop at the Mirador de los Volcanes, which is also the highest point on the road (4800 meters above sea level) from where you'll see a large part of the western mountain range. Our last stop will be the Lagunillas viewpoint, where you can admire the lagoon in all its splendor. 7:30 pm – Arrival in the city of Puno; we'll drop you off near the Plaza de Armas.
