Description

DAY 1: AREQUIPA/CHIVAY: 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Transportation will pick up passengers at their hotels to begin our journey to one of the deepest canyons in the world, taking the Yura highway, skirting the snow-capped Chachani mountain towards Pampa Cañahuas (Aguada Blanca and Salinas National Reserve), habitat of the beautiful South American camelids, the vicuñas. In the Tocra wetlands, we will be able to see a variety of migratory birds, including flamingos. We will pass by the crater of an extinct volcano (Chucura). We will stop at the volcano viewpoint, which is also the highest point on the road (4800 meters above sea level), from where we will be able to see much of the western mountain range. Approximately 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Arrival in Chivay. Buffet lunch (at the passenger's expense). Check-in at the hotel. Approximately 4:00 p.m. We will enjoy the thermal baths in La Calera, whose thermal medicinal waters range from 35º to 38º degrees Celsius in the pools. 8:00 p.m. Dinner accompanied by a folkloric show. DAY 2: CHIVAY / CRUZ DEL CÓNDOR / CHIVAY / AREQUIPA 6:00 a.m. Breakfast at the hotel. 6:30 a.m. We will head to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, a strategic observation point of the canyon and the spectacular flight of the condor. On the way back, we will stop at the villages of Pinchollo, Maca, and Yanque, which have beautiful colonial churches, as well as at the Choquetico and Antahuilque viewpoints, from where we will observe the impressive terraces of the valley. 12:00 p.m. Buffet lunch in Chivay (at the passenger's expense). 1:00 p.m. Return to the city of Arequipa. 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Arrival in the city of Arequipa.
