Description

Begin your journey with a pickup from your hotel in Arequipa. Head out on the road to Yura, skirting the Chachani volcano. Make a brief stop at the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, known for its impressive rock formations and diverse flora and fauna. Continue to the ghost town of Pampa de Arrieros, once the gateway for travelers during the train era. Stop for a snack and acclimatize before continuing on the Arequipa-Puno highway. Take a detour to the Pillones Waterfall, where you can see rocks shaped by water erosion and spot vizcachas (Andean rodents) jumping among the rocks. Descend to the waterfall with caution, take photos, and enjoy the warm morning weather and the sound of the water. Next, visit the Stone Forest of Puruña, a magical place with rock formations that seem to come from another planet. After a day in nature, return to Arequipa for lunch. Finally, take a short walk through the historic center of Arequipa, strolling through its white sillar streets and enjoying the tranquility of the Plaza de Armas. Admire the colonial architecture, traditional corners, and some of the most representative places of the White City, closing the experience with a pleasant view of the cultural heart of Arequipa.
