Description

Explore the Ausangate mountain in a unique and challenging way: through an unforgettable hike. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of southern Cusco with the Ausangate Trek, a walking tour that will take you through otherworldly landscapes: snowy mountains, turquoise lagoons, and Andean villages that preserve their ancient traditions. We'll start the hike to Ausangate at 4:00 a.m., picking you up from your hotel in our private tourist transport. From Cusco, you'll travel for about 2 hours to reach the town of Cusipata, where you'll enjoy a comforting buffet breakfast at our restaurant. This breakfast will recharge us with energy to start the hike to the snowy Ausangate. Our vehicle will drop you off as close as possible, at the top of the enabled route, which significantly reduces the walking time and lets you fully enjoy the impressive Andean landscape. After a scenic ride in private transport, you'll arrive at the Ausangate property, the starting point of your hike. From here, we'll start a moderately difficult ascent, which will take between 40 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the group's fitness level. Just 5 minutes into the hike, you'll be able to see the impressive Ausangate Lagoon. Throughout the tour, you'll have the chance to see majestic glaciers and turquoise lagoons that frame the landscape with authentic beauty. Note: From this point, you'll have two options to access the snow-capped mountain, which you can choose according to your preference and physical condition: Horseback riding: ideal for those looking for a more comfortable experience, as it lets you enjoy the scenery without much physical effort. (Check availability). Trekking route: perfect for hiking and adventure lovers, as it crosses spectacular landscapes that directly connect with the majesty of Ausangate. Once at the top, we'll visit the Qorisonqo Lagoon, famous for its three different colors, which makes it unique. We'll also check out the Turquoise Lagoon, which is right in front of the glacier. Here, the guide will give us interesting info about the history, geology, and legends surrounding this snowy mountain. Later, you'll have free time to take pictures, record videos, or just relax and soak up the energy of the surroundings. After the visit, we'll walk back to the parking lot along the same route. From there, our transport will take us back to Cusipata, where we'll enjoy a delicious lunch at our restaurant. Finally, we'll head back to the city of Cusco, where our service ends.
