Description
Experience the only remaining example of an Inca hanging bridge that can be seen today on a full-day tour from Cusco. Walk the bridge, before having free time to explore the area and have lunch before returning to Cusco.
After being picked up in the morning, head towards the famous Qeswachaka Bridge. On the way, pass through the beautiful Acopia region, stopping at the famous Four Lakes. Following this, continue on to Yanaoca, where you will proceed to have breakfast.
A few hours later, finally arrive at the Qeswachaka Bridge, in time to experience the festive dancing, and walk over the bridge. This handwoven grass bridge spans 120 feet, and is rebuilt every one or two years as a communal effort by all the local people of the region.
About 700 men and women form the communities of Huinchiri and Ccollana, and all of them come to Q’eswachaka to celebrate the construction of this bridge. Then, have lunch onsite, followed by several hours of free time in which you can soak up the unique atmosphere.
In the mid-afternoon, begin your return trip back to Cusco. Arrive back in Cusco, where you will be dropped off at your hotel at around 7:00 PM.
